“Catholics must be committed to the defense of life in all its stages and in every condition” (St. John Paul II, 1995). The urgency of the threat to a culture of life in our world cannot be misunderstood. The Knights of Columbus vigorously defends the dignity of each human being at every stage of life. Councils and parishes can work to build a culture of life and a civilization of love through these important programs.
March for Life
Knights of our council support the National March for Life by participating and providing funding for transportation to and from the yearly event.
Special Olympics/ARC
We, as Knights, raise funds for Special Olympics and ARC of Southern Maryland through our “Tootsie Roll” campaign and taking the dip in the “Polar Bear Plunge”.
Cemetery of the Innocents
The council keeps awareness of the abortion crisis in our nation by regularly installing the Cemetery of the Innocents on the most traveled section of road in the area.
