Community Programs

Knights are called to serve others. Our first principle is Charity – at home with our families and in our communities. When Knights of Columbus members come together as one through their council and parish, they accomplish great things.

Help our neighbors

Christmas in April St. Mary’s County, Maryland, Inc. in partnership with the community, rehabilitates the homes of low-income homeowners, particularly the elderly and disabled, so that they may live in warmth, safety, and independence. We also provide help through work on community projects in St. Mary’s County.

Every year, the Knights provide hundreds of hours of volunteer time and a large donation to help rehabilitate the homes of low-income homeowners.

Keep our Community Clean

The existence of unsightly litter, garbage, posters, advertisements and other refuse along County roads detracts from the scenic and rural character of St. Mary’s County.

The Knights help keep St. Mary’s county beautiful by keeping a section of Route 5 pristine.

Foster Fellowship

Our breakfasts provides an excellent opportunity for Fellowship and for parishioners to get to know each other. Every month, there are opportunities for both the people supporting the pancake breakfast (generally Knights and their families) but also for parishioners who join together in “breaking of bread” and have breakfast with each other.

All proceeds from these events benefit Christmas in April.
